[ British Geological Survey . Keyworth ]
16 June 2011
Works are proceeding at a pace on the new research facilities, offices and restaurant at the survey\'s headquarters in Keyworth. Central to this re-development of the site is the Geological Walk forming the main route through the complex but most importantly exhibiting all of the important stones present within the geological periods of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
We have worked closely with the survey\'s geologists and commercial stone suppliers to choose and source paving stone, feature rocks, boulders and monoliths to form and to be placed along the walk. This summer tonnes of stone will arrive on site from across the UK from as far north as the Scottish Islands, to the moors of the South West and the hills of the Lake District to be placed and laid on site. CED Ltd working with Kier are procuring and creating this prestigious new landscape.
